JJSalsaRengue introduces WEST COAST SWING in a 2-hour workshop by Albert Chung (this is a level 1 workshop and requires no pre-requisites)

West Coast Swing (WCS), the state dance of California, originated and developed since the 1930’s into the modern, stylie and smooth swing we know today. The dance is socially based and can be performed to music of all types from contemporary, hip-hop, funk and R&B all the way across to jazz, motown, swing and blues! It is versatile, smooth, stylie and sexy and is great fun to both watch and perform.   The dance is characterised by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection and allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together.

About Albert Chung – Born in the USA, Albert has over 15 years of experience in club-style partner dances which includes West Coast Swing (WCS), Hustle, Night Club 2-Step, Country 2-Step, Street Cha Cha, Bachata, Salsa and Argentine Tango.  He is also the first instructor to introduce WCS, Hustle, Night Club 2-Step and Country 2-Step in Singapore and Malaysia with emphasis on improvisation and social dancing.
